Birchbox October 2014 Review

This month, I wasn’t too happy because I was pretty much sure my credit card has ran out, and therefore, I wouldn’t get this month’s box… I can’t explain how excited I was when I have seen the Birchbox in my door, just waiting there for me !! I am still not sure how this have happened,  but I am very grateful.

October’s Birchbox was pretty intresting, as fas as my taste in beauty products goes. I mean the only sample I didn’t like was the perfume sample, but that’s only because I don’t like getting perfume samples in my boxes. Besides that, the box was really enjoyable.

The first sample was Tocca Green Tea and Lemon Hand Cream. If you are like me, always doing something with your hands, then you must love hand creams and lotions. This one is particularly useful, because it is very hydrating, smells like summer to me, and it instantly absorbs (so you don’t have to wait around wasting your time, while it absorbs). It is a very good product, which I already have been in love with previously, due to the fact that I got a different Tocca hand cream few months ago, also from Birchbox.

The second product was Dr. Brandt Pores No More Vacuum Cleaner Blackhead Extractor Mask. All I can say is that this product will be gone in less than a week, I just love it that much. Honestly, I love the entire collection of Dr. Brand Pores No More. Ever, since I can remember I always had suffered from enlarged pores on my nose and cheeks, as well as the never disappearing blackheads all over those areas. Ughh.. they are such such a pain, and it is almost impossible to get rid of them. However,  this has changed when Dr. Brandt came out with his Pores No More series. These products really work ! And not only that, but they also show noticeable difference JUSTafter one use ! I recommend those products to everyone with similar skin concerns.

The third product was Jouer Matte Moisture Tint Sunscreen in Nude. I am very satisfied with this product, as well as with the shade of it. Last year, Birchbox has gifted me with a similar Jouer product, the only problem was that it’s shade was way too dark for me. Therefore, I never really got a chance to try it. This time, the shade is perfect, it blends in seamlessly, smells good, and it also has a pretty good coverage. I have already decided that I will be buying a full sized tube with my Birchbox points.

The fourth product was this mini Lord And Berry eyeliner pencil in black with glitter. The pencil itself is of a very good quality and it stays on for a long period of time. The fact that it has glitter in it will make it more suitable for use when going out in the city. I like that the pencil is of such a small size, because now I can store it in my small clutch when going out, without it taking over a large amount of space.

The fifth, and final, product was this perfume sample from Harvey Prince in Singular Sensations Petaly Noir. The fragnance in itself is very seducing, but it just doesn’t fit me. The scent is deeply floral, as to that point that it becomes a little bit too heavy. I will be giving this perfume sample to my mom, she enjoys scents like that.

Overall, I am pleased with this month’s Birchbox. I love 4 out of 5 samples, so that is pretty great ! What I am really intrested in is some feedback from all of you beautiful ladies !! What did you get in your Birchbox this month ? And if you do not subscribe to Birchbox, then what do you think of this month’s box ? Do you have any questions ?

If intrested here is my link to subscribe to Birchbox, THANK YOU so much !!

Birchbox March Review (late)

I am sorry I am posting March’s reviews so late, but I started a new job and was working extra hours in past few weeks. But let’s get to the fun stuff!! First, I am going to start with March’s Birchbox.

I will be honest and say that when I first opened that box I was disappointed.  The main reasons were that I hate getting perfume samples, I hate getting non-beauty product -chocolate, and I never heard of the two brands that were featured in my box ( Air Repair Skincare and Grand Central Beauty). However, now that I had the box for few days and got to try all the samples, I am pretty much in love with that Birchbox.

Number one reason why I love March’s Birchbox, is that I received a large (deluxe, 1.7 fl oz)) sample of Michael Todd Blue Green Algae Antibacterial Toner. I love Michael Todd products and I had previously tried two different products from him and they were also amazing. This toner is highly moisturizing,  anti-bacterial, anti-inflammatory, for all skin types, and it aids in treatment and prevention of acne. The last part was the most important to me, treatment and prevention of my occassional acne. The toner really does help in the treatment of blemishes. I have been using it for two weeks now and all my pimples disappeared. It is so good I have already bought it full size from for a great price of  $18.50. I actually bought it with my birchbox points, another reason why I love birchbox!! This toner works on acne, but it does not dry out your skin at all. It is an amazing product!!

The second product in the box was Air Repair Skincare Rescue Balm. It is an all-purpose skin salve and a lip balm all in one. So far, I have only used it as lip balm and I am really satisfied with it. It healed my chapped lips in matter of two days!! It it is really moisturizing and effective, so I definitely recommend it to anyone. I also decided that I can’t be upset when I get products from brands that I have never heard of. I mean isn’t it what it is all about? Discovery of new products and new brands? 🙂

The third product was Grand Central Beauty S.M.A.R.T. Skin Perfecting Serum+Primer. This serum/primer is good for all skin types, and it is probably most effective in mature skin, because it serves as a filler under the makeup, especially under eyes. I like it, even though I don’t have wrinkles yet, because it smells amazing and leaves my skin super soft. It also absorbs into skin quickly so there is no waiting for it to soak in. I just wish the sample was a little bigger.

The fourth product was Sarah McNamara Beauty Miracle Skin Transformer Face Spotlight. It is a 5 in 1 illuminating complexion enhancer with UVA/UVB SPF 20. I like all of the Skin Transformer products, but this one is my new favorite. It comes in creamy, tan, and shimmery consistency and it serves great as a foundation primer. I like it, because it really illuminates your skin, and not just makes it shiny or glittery( which I hate).I will be definitely buying a full size product after I am done with this sample. It make take a little time, because a small amount of this product goes a long way!

The fifth product was Harvey Prince perfume sample in Cherie Blossom. The perfume is pretty nice and feminine, but it is a little to sweet and girly. I like perfume designed more for women than girls. But this perfume is probably perfect for age range of 14-25. I mean everyone likes something different.

There was also a chocolate included in the box, and first I was upset about it, but then I realized that this chocolate didn’t take place of my beauty sample (like it sometimes does), but was an extra gift all together.

Overall, I am very happy with my March Birchbox. I am especially glad that I have discovered my new go to product, the Michael Todd toner! What did you get in your Birchbox? Are you satisfied with it? I really appreciate every single comment 🙂

Birchbox February 2014

After last month’s Birchbox (which was so great), I was extremely excited about getting February’s box. Therefore,  I was a little disappointed when it came in. The first product in the box was Ruby Swing color changing nail polish. I have never heard of Ruby Swing before,  but that’s not the point. The point is that the color of the nail polish is pretty bad. It is this dark, neon pink, that you would imagine little girls wearing. I can’t tell you if the nail polish is long lasting, because I just refuse to paint my nails that color.

The second product in the box was Dr. Brandt pores no more pore refiner. I never tried this product before,  so that was a nice surprise. This pore refiner serves perfectly as a makeup primer. It mattifies the skin and has this light beige color to it. I was impressed with the results. It is important to remember though, that this pore refiner should be only used when you have oily or combination skin. This excludes dry skin. With my combination skin, this primer worked flawlessly. I will be definitely buying this product when the sample is out.

The third product was Beauty Protector hair oil. This oil keeps hair shiny and protects against heat and UV rays. It also makes your hair extremely smooth. I used the oil mostly for my hair ends, where the oil would stop the frizz. Overall, it is an excellent product, but I just wish the sample wasn’t so small!

The fourth product was Juicy Couture Couture La La Malibu perfume. I hate getting small perfume samples. You just spray yourself once and it is gone. The scent is pretty nice, it reminds me of the summer. It is a little bit too sweet for my taste though, but I can tell many girls will love this scent.

The fifth sample was pointless. It was 32 by Thomas P. Connely Dds effervescent breath treatment with isoVoxy cleansing. It is basically this packette with tiny crystals that you put in your mouth.I really don’t see how it would go well with the other four samples, but is an extra gift so I can’t complain.

Overall, the box was not one of their best ones, but it wasn’t horrible either. I think I just got spoiled with the last month’s box that had a full size item. I definitely recommend Birchbox to everyone. I would love to hear about what did you get in your box this month. What did you think? I appreciate every single comment.

Birchbox January 2014

I have to admit, I really loved this month’s Birchbox. In my box I have received Inika mineral eyeshadow in Eternal Marine, Rock Beauty London nail polish and glitter set in navy blue (full size), Fekkai brilliant glossing conditioner and shampoo, and finally as a lifestyle extra I got Reviver freshness on the go dry deodorant for clothes. I have already sampled the nail polish set and the eyeshadow. Inika eyeshadow is very highly pigmented, has pearl like finish, and stays on all the day long. It is simply a great eyeshadow. Rock Beauty London nail polish set has pleasantly surprised me. I was afraid of making a huge mess and having blue glitter all over my room, but this has not happened :). The set is very neat an easy to apply. So far I only had the nail polish on for day and a half, but it has not chipped in any way. Definitely a good sign. I didn’t get a chance to try the Fekkai conitioner and shampoo, so I am going to have to post about those products a little bit later on.

Overall, I am very pleased with this month’s Birchbox, and I highly recommend it to anyone.

About Me

My name is Anna and I have started this blog to share some of my reviews of beauty products, which I have sampled through paid beauty subscription boxes, as well as free samples I have received to test.

My favorite beauty subscription boxes are Glossybox, Birchbox, Julep, etc. However, there is nothing better for trying out beauty products free in exchange for your honest opinion of the products. Some of these amazing services are Pinch Me, Influenster, Smiley 360, Sircle Samples, etc.

So if you ever have any questions about any beauty products, then please check out my blog 🙂 Also please feel free to post any comments and questions. Thank you!
