Birchbox October 2014 Review

This month, I wasn’t too happy because I was pretty much sure my credit card has ran out, and therefore, I wouldn’t get this month’s box… I can’t explain how excited I was when I have seen the Birchbox in my door, just waiting there for me !! I am still not sure how this have happened,  but I am very grateful.

October’s Birchbox was pretty intresting, as fas as my taste in beauty products goes. I mean the only sample I didn’t like was the perfume sample, but that’s only because I don’t like getting perfume samples in my boxes. Besides that, the box was really enjoyable.

The first sample was Tocca Green Tea and Lemon Hand Cream. If you are like me, always doing something with your hands, then you must love hand creams and lotions. This one is particularly useful, because it is very hydrating, smells like summer to me, and it instantly absorbs (so you don’t have to wait around wasting your time, while it absorbs). It is a very good product, which I already have been in love with previously, due to the fact that I got a different Tocca hand cream few months ago, also from Birchbox.

The second product was Dr. Brandt Pores No More Vacuum Cleaner Blackhead Extractor Mask. All I can say is that this product will be gone in less than a week, I just love it that much. Honestly, I love the entire collection of Dr. Brand Pores No More. Ever, since I can remember I always had suffered from enlarged pores on my nose and cheeks, as well as the never disappearing blackheads all over those areas. Ughh.. they are such such a pain, and it is almost impossible to get rid of them. However,  this has changed when Dr. Brandt came out with his Pores No More series. These products really work ! And not only that, but they also show noticeable difference JUSTafter one use ! I recommend those products to everyone with similar skin concerns.

The third product was Jouer Matte Moisture Tint Sunscreen in Nude. I am very satisfied with this product, as well as with the shade of it. Last year, Birchbox has gifted me with a similar Jouer product, the only problem was that it’s shade was way too dark for me. Therefore, I never really got a chance to try it. This time, the shade is perfect, it blends in seamlessly, smells good, and it also has a pretty good coverage. I have already decided that I will be buying a full sized tube with my Birchbox points.

The fourth product was this mini Lord And Berry eyeliner pencil in black with glitter. The pencil itself is of a very good quality and it stays on for a long period of time. The fact that it has glitter in it will make it more suitable for use when going out in the city. I like that the pencil is of such a small size, because now I can store it in my small clutch when going out, without it taking over a large amount of space.

The fifth, and final, product was this perfume sample from Harvey Prince in Singular Sensations Petaly Noir. The fragnance in itself is very seducing, but it just doesn’t fit me. The scent is deeply floral, as to that point that it becomes a little bit too heavy. I will be giving this perfume sample to my mom, she enjoys scents like that.

Overall, I am pleased with this month’s Birchbox. I love 4 out of 5 samples, so that is pretty great ! What I am really intrested in is some feedback from all of you beautiful ladies !! What did you get in your Birchbox this month ? And if you do not subscribe to Birchbox, then what do you think of this month’s box ? Do you have any questions ?

If intrested here is my link to subscribe to Birchbox, THANK YOU so much !!

Sephora Haul August 2014

So it’s that time again, I decided to spend the money I don’t really have at my one and only Sephora. I do have to admit, though, that my shopping was pretty successful. I got all the things I was out off, and of course too many extra items. There are few products that I am exceptionally in love with, and I wanted to review them. I will only go into detail about the new Stila Eyes Are The Window shadow palette in Mind, Sephora Collection Pro Visionary brushes, new Laura Mercier Smooth Finish Flawless Fluide foundation, Laura Mercier Matte Radiance Baked Powder Compact, Too Faced Melted Liquefied Long Wear Lipstick, Dermadoctor Ain’t MisbehavinMedicated Acne Control Serum, Dr. Dennis Gross Skincare Clarifying Colloidal Sulfur Mask, and of course all the promos Sephora is having right now.

2014-08-20 15.40.37

I am truly in love with the new Stila Eyes Are The Window eyeshadow palettes. I personally picked the pallette in Mind (there are four: Mind, Body, Soul, Spirit). I picked Mind, because the entire pallette consists of matte colors. I don’t own too many matte eyeshadows, so I decided to try them out. The pallette is very unique. It has 12 colors ranging from delicate beige to peachy creme to reddish brown. It is a great pallette for day wear, as well as night wear. The colors are very pigmented, don’t crease, and stay on for a very long time. I had mine on for 8 hours and it was flawless. Also, the compact that the shadows come in is very ellegant and sleek.

The second product I am in love with are the Sephora Collection Pro Visionary brushes. I bought Precise Natural Powder Brush #121 and Modeling Foundation Brush #111. They are both amazing!! The foundation brush is perfect for liquid formulas, where it blends in beautifully, models, and provides smooth and full coverage. The bristles are soft, but sturdy enough to cover every inch of your face. The powder brush is extremely soft, and it provides amazing, finishing effect Your face will look airbrushed.

The third product is the new Laura Mercier Smooth Finish Flawless Fluide liquid foundation. I got it in the color Cashew, which is identical to my skin color. My skin color is light beige with warm undertone. This foundation is definitely my new favorite. It provides medium to full coverage,  and you only need a small drop of foundation to achieve that effect. It is also long lasting and pretty much sweatproof. My job requires a lot of physical work for at least 8 hours a day, and this foundation lasts through it. It doesn’t cake or rub off, while feeling like you have nothing on your face. I love it!! The second Laura Mercier product I got is the Matte Radiance Baked Powder Compact in Highlight-01. It is a great highlighting product, without all the overly shimmer and glitter, which I don’t like. However, I use this powder as my finishing touch all over my face. It gives it a healthy glow.

The fourth product is the Too Faced Liquefied Long Wear Lipstick in Melted Violet. Lately, I have been obssessing with lip colors in the Pantone’s color of the year, vivid orchid. This lipstick is beautiful, radiant, and HIGHLY pigmented. Also, if your looking for a lipstick in liquid formula that will provide long wear for hours, this lipstick is definitely the one to go for.

Another product worth mentioning is Dermadoctor Aint MisbehavinMedicated Acne Control Serum. I have occasional acne, and I have been looking for a treatment product that I could use during the day, under my makeup. This product is perfect for that. Not only it helps heal current acne, but it also prevents the future breakouts with its 2% Salicyclic Acid.
The final product I would like to mention is the Dr. Dennis Gross Skincare Clarifying Colloidal Sulfur Mask. It is a great overnight acne treatment, which actually works without over drying your face. It can be also used as a skin mattifier during the day, even under your makeup. You just have to use a much smaller amount and blend it in well.

Sephora has many promos running right now. I ordered my products in three separate orders, because they were all placed on different days. I also got a chance to use three different promo codes on my orders and they were VIBPARTY (cosmetic case filled with deluxe samples, you have to be VIB or VIB ROUGE), BOXOMROUGE (Buxom lip trio, you have to be VIB ROUGE), and ROUGEFRESH (Fresh lip trio, you have to be VIB ROUGE ).

Boxycharm August 2014 Review

I was really excited yesterday when my August’s Boxycharm came in. I previously have read online that the theme of this month’s box will be Beach Babe, and I just couldn’t wait to see what beauty products will be included. This month’s box definitely did not disappoint. It’s actually pretty amazing! !!

The first, and probably my favorite, product was Morphe S19 Powder Brush (retail value $19.99). This brand is new to me, but I am already in love with them. This brush is of very high quality, and the bristles are very soft and silky. It can be used to apply powder, as well as a bronzer. I already used the brush today to apply my Laura Mercier Radiance Baked Powder, and I have to admit that the effect is flawless. I will be definitely buying more brushes from Morphe.

The second product was the Ofra Cosmetics Americano Bronzer (it was full sized and it’s retail value is $35.00 !!). I am pretty content with this bronzer,  because it has a perfect sandy shade. It is not too dark or orangey, like so many other bronzers I have tried. The only thing I would change about this bronzer, is that I wouldn’t make it as shimmery as it is. I personally prefer more matte bronzers, because I dont like when my whole face is all shimmery. However, I have decided that this bronzer will be perfect for contouring, by applying it only in certain areas.

The third product was Tarina Tarantino Conditioning Lip Sheen in Showroom-pastel pink (also full sized with retail value of $22.00). It is a pretty nice balm/sheen, since I wouldn’t call it a lipstick because it doesn’t provide enough color. It definitely hydrates and smoothes the lips, making it a must have for the summer weather

The fourth product was Model Co Cheek+Lips Tint Rosy Red (full sized, retail value $ 22.00). I am familiar with this product, because I had received it in Glossybox long time ago. It is a really useful lip and cheeks stain, which looks very natural. When using it as a cheek tint make sure to use a small amount and blend it in with your fingers.

The fifth product was Ofra Cosmetics Eyeliner (full sized, retail value $ 13.00). It came in Green Go color, which is a nice, shimmery, military green. This eyeliner is water resistant and long lasting, making it perfect for use in the inner rim of an eye.

So, what do you think of the August 2014 Boxycharm?? All comments are appreciated.

Boxycharm April 2014 Review

This month I decided to sign up for Boxycharm beauty subscription. This subscription service started with sampling more pharmacy brands like L’Oréal, Maybelline, and Cover Girl. However, recently Boxycharm started sending out products from more luxurious brands, like Nars, Model Co, and Bellapierre. This is why I decided to sign up. I am more interested in sampling higher end brands, because it is more worth the actual subscription price. So, when I received my first Boxycharm,  I immediately fell in love with it. Not only I loved every single brand that the box was sampling,  but also (to my big surprise), each product was full sized. Boxycharm usually features five products, full sized and deluxe sized for $21 monthly charge. I guess April was a perfect month to sign up, since all five products were full sized.

The first product was Model Co Blush Cheek Powder in Amaretto Sunset 03. The retail price for this product is $18.00 . I love Model Co products, so I was really excited for receiving it. I have many blushes, but I definitely don’t have this type of a shade. It is a tan rosy shade, which applies kinda sheer, but it is easily buildable to achieve the desired coverage. This shade is very universal, where it can be used to brighten any type of complexion. It is also very radiant and provides perfectly contoured cheeks. On top of all that it is very long lasting, it stayed on me the entire day.

The second product was Model Co Lip EnhancerIllusion Lip Liner in universal flesh color. The retail value of this liner is $20.00. It is suitable for any complexion and provides voluminous effect. This lip liner is made with cocoa butter, shea butter, bees wax, and carnauba wax. Thanks to those ingredients, it provides nourishment, moisture, and overall enhancement. This lip liner is perfect for those who are seeking definition and volume, but yet natural looking lips. I usually dont use lip liners, but I have made an exception for this one, since it provides such a natural effect.

The third product was Bellapierre Cosmetics Nail Color. It came in shade of Cotton Candy (pale pink), which again is pretty universal. The retail value is $15.00. Personally, I wish it was a more unique color, but it is only because I already have a huge collection of pinks in my nail polishes. When looking at the formula, this nail polish is exceptionally good. It provides perfect coverage and long lasting effect. Today, I have had the nail polish on for almost three days, and it is still chip -free. Also this nail color is DBP, toluene, and formaldehyde free.

The fourth product was Ofra Cosmetics Long Lasting Liquid Lipstick in Hollywood, which is a now trendy mix between coral and hot pink. The value of this lipstick is $19.90. I love this color and the fact that it is not a lipgloss, but an actual lipstick. It is very creamy and lightweight, but you DO HAVE to apply it in a thin layer. If applied too much product, it feels uncomfortable on your lips. Besides, all you need is thin layer to achieve fully vibrant and long lasting color.

The fifth, and final product, was Coolway Glow Finishing Oil. The retail value of this product is $29.95!! This oil is very light, but has a nutrient-rich formula with Vitamin E and Seaweed extract. These nutrients provide shine and moisture to any type of hair. What I love about this product is that it doesn’t grease up your hair like some oils do, but applies very lightly and naturally. Also, all you need is about four drops to see amazing results. I am already in love with this hair oil, and the bottle size is huge so it is going to last me for months and months.

Overall, I am extremely content with all the products in April’s Boxycharm. It is now one of my top beauty subscription boxes. I just can’t wait for the next month’s box!!! I honestly love the fact that this box was mostly makeup products, since most of my other subscriptions provide me with so many skincare products. I recommend Boxycharm to anyone who is looking for a valuable experience for their money. This subscription service also reminds me a little bit of Glossybox, which is a huge plus, since that is my number one so far!

Review of new beauty subscription box “Beauty DNA”- April 2014

I wanted to share with you about this new beauty subscription box, which is bringing a complete change in beauty subscription boxes. Beauty DNA is a new montly subscription, where you pay $25 each month (free shipping), and then you receive one (well, I guess sometimes even two since I just got two) full sized, brand name product in either skincare, hair care, or body care. The fun begins with filling out a detailed and customizable beauty profile. They ask you questions about everything that you would ever consider when buying a beauty product. You can specify what ingredients you want in your products, what scents you like, your skin concerns on scale of none-mild-moderate-acute. You also pick if you want to receive a skincare product, body care, or hair care in your first box. I picked skincare!!

I honestly have never seen such a customizable beauty profile anywhere! It really grants that you will only receive the products you want/like.

Onto my April 2014 Beauty DNA box review… all I can say is that I am officially in love with this subscription service. Since I picked skincare as my preference for first box, I have received Avene Cleanance Mask for oily, blemish-prone skin (1.69 fl oz). This mask is for treatment of acne and breakouts. It contains salicylic acid and glycolic acid. This mask is perfect for deep cleansing and exfoliating, which are neccessary with acne prone skin. With the product came a large card called Skin Report, where Beauty DNA explains why this product was your product match. On the card you can find the retail price of the product, benefits, how to use, and finally why this product is good for you personally.Image

I am guessing that since my product’s retail value was below $25 (it was $22), I have also received a bonus product this month. A HUGE bonus!! The second product was Moroccanoil dry body oil (3.4 fl oz., retail value $38!!). I was pleasantly surprised with this product and I am already in love with it. My skin has never been smoother as it is now! This product also came with a Skin Repord card.

I am in love with Beauty DNA!! What do you think? Will you try it? I love every single comment I get! 🙂

FAB First Aid Skin Rescue Blemish Patrol Pads Review

I have been looking for some pads for face for minor acne for years. Finally I wound the product that works miracles. First Aid Beauty Blemish Patrol Pads is my newest beauty product that I involve in my skin routine.

I get minor pimples here and there, but not major acne. I have been looking for pads that will actually heal those pimples, but won’t dry out my skin like most of the pads did. Some other blemish pads I have used previously are Peter Thomas Roth Mass Complexion Correction Pads. They probably work if you have major acne, but for me they just dried out my skin. It is probably because they contain 2% salicylic acid and 46% alcohol. Another product I tried was Philosophy Clear Days Ahead Overnight Repair Salicylic Acid Acne Treatment Pads. It is a pretty great product that people with sensitive skin can even use. Salicylic acid is only 0.5 %, so that is pretty low. The only thing they are missing is to combine salicylic acid with another acne treatment ingredient, like witch hazel.

Let’s get back to FAB Skin Rescue Blemish Patrol Pads. These pads have a perfect combination of different, effective ingredients. They have witch hazel, camellia sinensis leaf extract, enantia chlorantha bark extract, tea tree leaf oil, salicylic acid ( small amount), willow bark extract, and few more natural extracts. I used them twice a day, once in the morning, once in the evening. They definitely have healed my blemishes quickly, and I haven’t gotten any new ones. And most importantly, they don’t dry out your skin, ever! They actually provide some moisture for your face.

I definitely recommend this product. I am on my second one, they are that good. If you want blemish control, prevent future ones, and minimize your pours, then you should definitely get them!
Cost-$30 for 60 pads
