Boxycharm April 2014 Review

This month I decided to sign up for Boxycharm beauty subscription. This subscription service started with sampling more pharmacy brands like L’Oréal, Maybelline, and Cover Girl. However, recently Boxycharm started sending out products from more luxurious brands, like Nars, Model Co, and Bellapierre. This is why I decided to sign up. I am more interested in sampling higher end brands, because it is more worth the actual subscription price. So, when I received my first Boxycharm,  I immediately fell in love with it. Not only I loved every single brand that the box was sampling,  but also (to my big surprise), each product was full sized. Boxycharm usually features five products, full sized and deluxe sized for $21 monthly charge. I guess April was a perfect month to sign up, since all five products were full sized.

The first product was Model Co Blush Cheek Powder in Amaretto Sunset 03. The retail price for this product is $18.00 . I love Model Co products, so I was really excited for receiving it. I have many blushes, but I definitely don’t have this type of a shade. It is a tan rosy shade, which applies kinda sheer, but it is easily buildable to achieve the desired coverage. This shade is very universal, where it can be used to brighten any type of complexion. It is also very radiant and provides perfectly contoured cheeks. On top of all that it is very long lasting, it stayed on me the entire day.

The second product was Model Co Lip EnhancerIllusion Lip Liner in universal flesh color. The retail value of this liner is $20.00. It is suitable for any complexion and provides voluminous effect. This lip liner is made with cocoa butter, shea butter, bees wax, and carnauba wax. Thanks to those ingredients, it provides nourishment, moisture, and overall enhancement. This lip liner is perfect for those who are seeking definition and volume, but yet natural looking lips. I usually dont use lip liners, but I have made an exception for this one, since it provides such a natural effect.

The third product was Bellapierre Cosmetics Nail Color. It came in shade of Cotton Candy (pale pink), which again is pretty universal. The retail value is $15.00. Personally, I wish it was a more unique color, but it is only because I already have a huge collection of pinks in my nail polishes. When looking at the formula, this nail polish is exceptionally good. It provides perfect coverage and long lasting effect. Today, I have had the nail polish on for almost three days, and it is still chip -free. Also this nail color is DBP, toluene, and formaldehyde free.

The fourth product was Ofra Cosmetics Long Lasting Liquid Lipstick in Hollywood, which is a now trendy mix between coral and hot pink. The value of this lipstick is $19.90. I love this color and the fact that it is not a lipgloss, but an actual lipstick. It is very creamy and lightweight, but you DO HAVE to apply it in a thin layer. If applied too much product, it feels uncomfortable on your lips. Besides, all you need is thin layer to achieve fully vibrant and long lasting color.

The fifth, and final product, was Coolway Glow Finishing Oil. The retail value of this product is $29.95!! This oil is very light, but has a nutrient-rich formula with Vitamin E and Seaweed extract. These nutrients provide shine and moisture to any type of hair. What I love about this product is that it doesn’t grease up your hair like some oils do, but applies very lightly and naturally. Also, all you need is about four drops to see amazing results. I am already in love with this hair oil, and the bottle size is huge so it is going to last me for months and months.

Overall, I am extremely content with all the products in April’s Boxycharm. It is now one of my top beauty subscription boxes. I just can’t wait for the next month’s box!!! I honestly love the fact that this box was mostly makeup products, since most of my other subscriptions provide me with so many skincare products. I recommend Boxycharm to anyone who is looking for a valuable experience for their money. This subscription service also reminds me a little bit of Glossybox, which is a huge plus, since that is my number one so far!

  1. Superb blog! Do you have any suggestions for aspiring writers?
I’m hoping to start my own blog soon but I’m a little lost on everything.
Would you suggest starting with a free platform like WordPress or go for a paid option? There are so many options out there that I’m totally overwhelmed ..
    Any tips? Many thanks!
